Creating Scenes
Building interactive 3D scenes is intuitive and powerful with the OXR Scene Composer.
This page contains essential information about using the application.
Scene Creation in Five Steps
Launch OXR Scene Composer
- Navigate to
/oxrpage and click on the Create new button - Or directly navigate to
/oxr/create
Name your scene properly
The title of your scenes will be displayed when listing or launching them.
You can always come back and change the title of your scene. The same applies to all other settings and elements in a scene.
Build your 3D composition
- Use libraries on the side to access assets and media from the scene
- Import your assets as object or environment elements
- Add or replace images and videos on screen elements
- Insert texts, screens and different types of lights, undo/redo your actions, switch between tools, customize materials, add effects and popup content, and preview your scene using the toolbar
- Utilize keyboard shortcuts for efficiency
- Access advanced panels and settings on the side and have control over specific details
Keep performance in mind when building complex scenes. Consider the total file size, texture size and polygon count for smooth playback across devices. Scene performance is primarily dependent on the client device.
Read Editing & Publishing for more on how to use OwnXR Scene Composer.
Preview and finalize
- Test your scene using the Preview button
- For the initial creation of the scene, click the CREATE button on the toolbar to save the scene to the
/oxrpage under the scope of your own or your organization - The page will reload after creation, with its unique edit link
https://ownxr.com/oxr/[scene-id].
OXR links are meant to create and modify scenes, and they can be viewed only by you and people in your organization. Read the next step for publishing.
Use the preview mode frequently during creation to ensure your scene works as intended and maintains good performance.
Your scene is ready to publish!
- Create button will be replaced at the toolbar with (save) and PUBLISH buttons after the scene is initially created.
- Creating a scene will add a new scene item under
/oxrpage. - Saving a scene will override the scene data for future access from
/oxrpage or direct link. - Publishing a scene will save the
/oxrscene, and takes a snapshot as a/viewscene, which is visible to visitors from/viewlink or subdomain.
Saving or creating a scene will not publish them, and will not change the last published version of the scene.
You are ready to jump at /oxr/create and create your first scene!
